Update: Driver shares his side of the story HERE
Indore is battling hard to fight off the on-going Corona pandemic. Over 1000 positive cases have been registered in the city alone. Authorities, including local policemen and traffic personnel are ensuring that only those car that have a valid pass will be on the cars and all occupants must be wear the safety mask. During one such drive, a Porsche Supercar was stopped as its driver was not wearing the mask. The same can be seen in the video below
The yellow car in question is a Porsche 718 Boxster, one of the most affordable Supercars in India. It gets power from 2.0-litre turbo petrol motor belting out almost 300 bhp of power. Priced at about Rs 90 lakh ex-showroom, it makes the brand more accessible to petrol heads and enthusiasts. It is not sure why the car was being driven in the middle of a lockdown but the video is now circulating on various Whatsapp groups and social media platforms. However, on such platforms, the car is wrongly being termed as a Ferrari!
In the video, the driver is trying to show the valid pass that is necessary to drive a vehicle in the middle of a lockdown. However, the NAGAR SURAKSHA SAMITI personnel (details HERE) is clearly reasoning him on the absence of a mask on his face. The short video also shows the driver being subjected to the common punishment of squats / sit-ups. We are assuming he was allowed to go post a warning.
The driver in the video is Sanskar and his side of the story can be read on this INSTAGRAM POST. The current lockdown due to Corona pandemic is scheduled to get over on 3rd May 2020. However, if you need to use your vehicle, read our detailed article on how to get an e-pass for the same. We urge you to do so only if necessary. Lets do our bit of staying home and controlling the graph of rising positive cases.
