We have mentioned earlier that with the COVID-19 in process, several car launches have been delayed. And one of them is the upcoming Tata Gravitas and just recently we have spotted its base variant XE. We think that this particular variant will be focused towards the cab aggregators.
Coming to the details then the steel wheels are clearly visible and we expect it to be 15-inches. This specific XE variant of Gravitas is a stripped-down version when compared with the XE trim of Harrier. Like the XE variant of Harrier which gets wheel covers, this one in Gravitas just gets regular steel wheels.
The front profile is identical to the Harrier and follows the Impact 2.0 Design philosophy. It gets split headlight design with LED DRLs at the top with headlights at the bottom. The front profile os this base variant of Gravitas is deprived of the fog lights and will get black grille. Unlike the chrome one which will come in top-spec trims.

At the rear, it will continue with the LED taillights and will get integrated spoiler with high mount rear stoplights. This variant will also not get an antenna and will cut off on the rear wiper too. Like the Harrier, we can also see the Gravitas monicker written in bold letters. The side profile will continue black door handles and piano black ORVMs with integrated indicators.
Coming to the interiors of this base variant XE of Tata Gravitas then you are welcomed by black fabric upholstery. This trim is also stripped of any music system. The steering wheel is expected to come with the rake and reach functions while there will be no controls on the wheel. This variant gets manual HVAC functions and will be stripped down from the drive modes too. The piano black finish will run along with the dashboard and it gets driver-centric armrest too. The handbrake continues with the one found in Harrier.
As far as the dimension goes, Tata Gravitas is 4,661 mm in length, 1,894 mm in width and 1,786 mm in height. The wheelbase for both Harrier and Gravitas remains the same at 2,741 mm. Tata Gravitas is 63 mm longer and 80 mm taller than the Harrier to accomodate the space for third-row passengers. It will also sit on the same 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels we saw at the 2020 Auto Expo.
Feature-wise, the top-spec variants of Gravitas will get an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will also get cruise control with a multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control and among others. The one showcased at the Expo featured 6-seat layout but the 7-seater will also come with the middle row being occupied by a bench-type.

Under the hood, the engine will remain identical as that found in Harrier. The same 2.0-litre FCA sourced diesel engine will produce 170 PS with 350 Nm of peak torque. It will get a 6-speed manual as standard and an optional 6-speed automatic gearbox. The prices for the same are expected to stick Rs 14 lakh to Rs 22 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
