With most carmakers moving towards new BS6 emission norms and bringing in updated models, Isuzu is one name we haven't heard in a long time. And the trend will continue because Isuzu will launch the BS6 V-Cross pickup truck and MU-X SUV post coronavirus.

Yes, it was earlier predicted that Isuzu might bring in the updated BS6 V-Cross and MU-X in April but now it has been pushed towards further months. The new date we see is the second quarter of FY2021 that is in between July-September 2020.
With the new BS6 norms, the prices are likely to see a hike of more than Rs 2 lakh. And the big SUV, MU-X will get a price increase of Rs 3-4 lakh (ex-showroom). That is a lot for a brand which is already low in sales as the combined sales of both V-Cross and MU-X have recorded only 1,404 units from months April 2019 to February 2020.
In addition to the delayed launches, Isuzu India has extended the validity of services and warranties of existing customers from March 15 and April 15 to May 31, 2020. This is a sigh of relief for the customers in this pandemic which has seen the whole of India in a lockdown of 21 days in total.

Also, the new emission norms were about to start from April 1 but the COVID-19 has delayed the process and to take preventive measures, PM of India has issued a 21 days lockdown in the country. And several carmakers have been granted a period of 10 days of selling the BS4 stock once the lockdown lifts up.
The good news for Isuzu here is that it has finished all of its BS4 models and its production has also been stopped. The Japanese carmaker will only focus on the exports once the lockdown gets lifts up.
