Isuzu V-Cross Pick Up Trucks Distribute Food To 300+ Animal Feeders In Pune

Prime Minister of India, Sri Narendra Modiji had announced a nationwide lockdown in the country from March 25, 2020. All government and private sectors were ordered to shut down except petrol pumps, banks, hospitals and grocery retail shops that come under essential services. And while people were panicking, three Isuzu V-Cross Pick Up Trucks in Maharashtra loaded their cargo bays to deliver food items for stray animals.

We have seen such initiatives in the past also where V-Cross owners have come forward for a social cause. A perfect example were the Kerala floods when these pick-ups were used extensively to help out stranded citizens. In this case, people like Mahesh Narayan (White V-Cross), Sachin Pise and Shradha Amonkar (Black V-Cross) decided to help out feeders in Pune. Sachin and Shradha's love and compassion for the strays was how the plan came up to support and help the NGOs in making sure our four-legged friends did not suffer in this lockdown period. Joining them was Kaustav Mukerji in his Grey V-Cross to speed up this mission of helping our furry friends.

In the days gone by, these three Isuzu V-Cross Pick-Up Trucks have been delivering food to over 300+ animal feeders. And till now they have helped in transporting a total of almost 6000kg of dog and cat food. This includes picking up 3000+ kg of cat and dog food from Bhiwandi. For this, they got support from Royal Canin, one of the best companies when it comes to healthy nutrition for cats and dogs.

In the next round of transport, the trio took about 2880 kg of Poha to Pune that was mixed to the original Royal Canin food. The mixture ensured that via feeders, about 20,000 animals could be given food in and around Pune.

Kaustav, one of the owners of the Isuzu V-Cross pick-ups seen here started his first journey on April 4, 2020, and till now all the trucks have covered 1500 km in total. They are helping in the transportation of the food by using the might of their trucks, thus helping several NGOs and animal lovers. They will be helping in the transportation of food till May 3, 2020 post which the lockdown is expected to be lifted off.

Before you ask, yes, the group is carrying all necessary documents and have got special permission from the officials in charge. All the people involved in this task have protective gears with them. The police departments of Pune, Mumbai and Thane pitched in to make sure the convoy had no issues on the way either.

All three Isuzu pick up trucks are heavily customised and sit on 17-inch tyres. Kaustav's grey truck (with HR26 registration) is fitted with 17 inches Lenso alloy wheels and 265/65/17 size Continental cross contact all-terrain tyres. The other two are fitted with 17-inch Pro comp steel rims wrapped with 265/70/17 size Cooper STT pro M/T tyres. Further, the black & white Isuzus are running upgraded Ironman suspension with 2-inch nitro shocks.

The after-market lids also helped a lot to keep the packed covered and protected from elements. While Kaustav's grey Isuzu uses a trifold, the Black V-Cross has an Aeroklas sports lid. The white one you see here uses an Aeroklas deck cover (Aviator model) that is powered and not operated manually. Definitely worth the investment we say!

All the SUVs gets a snorkel which helps in raising the level of air intake and reduces the chance of water entering the engine. The group is equipped with an entire radio communication set-up which helps the drive easier and all trucks are equipped with dash cameras too.

Isuzu D-Max V-Cross is currently discontinued in the Indian markets and will come in with the updated BS6 norms. The BS4 models were offered in two engine specifications - a 2.5L diesel which churned out 134 bhp and a smaller 2.0L turbo diesel which made 148 bhp. The latter only came with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
