Well, it's been a long wait from Jeep for the Compass diesel automatic and looks like our prayers have been answered by the company. Jeep has launched the diesel automatic Compass in two trims - Longitude 4X4 and the top-spec Limited Plus. The automatic diesel was earlier reserved for the more expensive Trailhawk version.
The prices for the diesel automatic Jeep Compass starts at Rs 21.96 lakh for the Longitude 4X4 and Limited Plus sticks at a price of Rs 24.99 lakh. All prices relate to ex-showroom, pan-India. The bookings and test drive for the same are available at all dealerships across India.
The same diesel automatic first came with the Jeep Compass Trailhawk. It produces 170 bhp along with a peak torque of 350 Nm which is mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox. The engine is BS6 compliant and comes before the new emission norms deadline which is set on April 1, 2020.

Dr. Partha Datta President and Managing Director, FCA India said, We are strengthening and expanding the Jeep Compass range with the introduction of four diesel automatic variants, of which, the base and top-end variant will available to consumers right away.
He also added that both variants offer more equipment, boosting the value-for-money proposition for the customer which we believe will increase our share in the segment. This roll-out has also given us the opportunity to offer our locally-made BSVI-compliant 2.0-litre turbo-diesel powertrain to consumers much before the statutory deadline.
The Longitude trim gets equipped with Cruise Control, which is a first in this trim. Dual-zone climate control, two-tone interiors, a large 7.0-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system with a reverse camera are some of the features which come onboard.
Safety features on this trim include ABS, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), Traction Control, Hill Start Assist and disc brakes on all four wheels. The SUV also gets an electronic parking brake and Frequency Damped Suspension set-up. The AWD system comes with four modes - Auto, Sand, Mud and Snow.
