Jeep India has launched special editions for its premium 3-row SUV, the Jeep Meridian in India. Christened the Meridian X and the Meridian Upland. These special editions offer 2 new color options and start at Rs.33.41 lakhs and top out at Rs.38.47 lakhs. These special editions will be available in 2 color options- Silvery Moon and Galaxy Blue color options.

Jeep Meridian X And Upland Editions
The Meridian X and Upland edition caters more to the Urban Lifestyle centric segment. It gets a Silvery Moon color theme with body-colored lowers, alloy wheels with grey inserts, and a grey roof. It also gets side molding. Another color theme is Galaxy Blue.
The insides offer some fresh additions as well. the Jeep Meridian X and the Meridian Upland get new ambient lighting shades and puddle lamps, a rear entertainment package with a Wi-Fi-enabled 11.6-inch screen. This accessory is available at a 50 percent discount on the Meridian X and the Meridian Upland. The standard package also includes a roof carrier, side steps, sunshades, a tire inflator, and unique bonnet decals.
Engine Remains The Same
The mechanicals remains the same as before. It comes with the same 2.0-liter MultiJet diesel engine that produces 168hp and 350 Nm of torque, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic. These special editions are focused solely on cosmetic and feature addition. The top-end trim gets a 4X4 drivetrain system. The SUV is can do 0 to 100kmph in 10.8 seconds and offer a max speed of 198kmph.
Speaking at the launch of these special editions, Mr. Nipun J Mahajan, Head of Jeep India, said, We are very excited to launch the special edition of the Jeep. Meridian highlighting the duality of the SUV in distinct styling. Were taking the Jeep. Meridian to another level with the new Special Editions, which adds a distinctive look that will stand out on both the off-road trails and on the streets. The additional equipment makes these special editions unique, appealing to a wider customer base.
VERDICT- The newly introduced editions will help Jeep to propel the Meridian with a nascent push. It will attract customers to showrooms who are looking for something different from the existing SUVs on the market Plus, with the new accessories and color tones, Meridian does get a big bump on its looks, which were already quite impressive.
