Kawasaki India has recently teased an upcoming motorcycle on social media, generating significant excitement among enthusiasts. The teaser features the unmistakable silhouette of a Ninja motorcycle. Comparing the silhouette and the headlamps outline confirms that the motorcycle in question is the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R, a 399cc inline-four bike unveiled earlier this year.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R Teased: Launch On September 11
Kawasaki is set to unveil a new four-cylinder Ninja motorcycle in India on September 11, 2023. The company's teaser prominently showcased a four-cylinder engine layout along with the hashtag #Ninjalife and the front view of a fully-faired bike. In the Indian market, Kawasaki already offers the Ninja ZX-10R. Considering the ZX-4R's reputation for offering a favorable price-to-performance ratio, it seems to be a strong contender.

Meanwhile, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R at one point in 2019 was offered in the Indian market but was soon pulled off the shelves. This time the Ninja ZX-4R is the one hitting our Indian shores.
Engine: Inline-4 For The Grunt
This motorcycle features an exceptional engine, with an astounding power output of 77PS (or 80PS with the ram air intake) achieved at a high 14,500rpm. Furthermore, it generates 39Nm of torque at 13,000rpm. However, the powertrain is only one aspect of its performance package. The ZX-4R comes equipped with top-notch hardware, such as a Showa separate function inverted fork, a vertically mounted preload-adjustable mono-shock, dual front disc brakes, and a manageable 189kg kerb weight, all contributing to its impressive ride and handling capabilities.
Features: Neat And Brimmed-Up
In terms of features, the ZX-4R offers a 4.3-inch digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, along with four distinct riding modes (Sport, Road, Rain, and Ride), traction control, and an assist and slipper clutch, among other amenities. It's anticipated that this motorcycle will be imported to India via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route. Also, this will be the most affordable bike with an inline-4 setup in the Indian market.
Expected Price And Launch
It is expected to be priced in the range of approximately Rs 7 to 8 lakh. Upon its arrival, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R is likely to become the most affordable inline-four motorcycle available in the Indian market. While the launch date is confirmed for September 11, we would have to wait till then for the exact retail tag.
Verdict
Kawasaki chose to discontinue the Ninja ZX-6R that was launched in 2019, and it people were eyeing for something else to fill the void. The released teaser has excited the enthusiasts that were waiting for a new Kawasaki mover in the Indian market.
