Unveiling a sneak peek into the Kawasaki Versys Hybrid, an intriguing patent design has surfaced online. This leak offers a glimpse into the inner workings of its powertrain and various components. Notably, Kawasaki recently introduced the Z 7 Hybrid on a global scale, and it seems that the innovative minds at the Japanese motorcycle company are currently immersed in the development of yet another hybrid marvel, this time within the Versys series.

Kawasaki Versys Hybrid: What To Expect?

According to details revealed in a leaked patent file, it seems that the Versys Hybrid might share similarities with the Z 7 Hybrid in terms of its technology. This potential setup could involve a 9kW motor, a 1.4kWh battery, and a 451cc parallel-twin engine. Notably, the cooling system showcased in the leaked images aligns with Kawasaki's approach seen in the Z 7 Hybrid.

This proposed configuration holds exciting possibilities for improving the Versys Hybrid's touring capabilities. Riders could seamlessly transition from electric power to an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) when the battery is depleted. To put it in perspective, the 451cc parallel-twin engine is capable of generating 69bhp. Envisioned features include manual or automatic gear shift options, full LED lighting, a digital dashboard, and more, making it a comprehensive and versatile choice for riders.

The Kawasaki Z 7 Hybrid features a unique setup with a compact traction motor positioned behind the cylinder bank of its 451 cm3 Parallel Twin internal combustion engine. This innovative hybrid power unit, a first in the motorcycle world, collaborates seamlessly to deliver a rider-friendly experience, emphasizing robust low to mid-range torque. In essence, strong hybrid systems unite an internal combustion engine (ICE) with an electric motor, ensuring potent performance, and their substantial battery capacity enables electric-only operation. The Ninja 7 Hybrid offers an EV Mode, ideal for scenarios where quiet riding is preferred, like residential areas or parking garages, although with limited speed and range.

The motorcycle boasts a modern 4.3 all-digital TFT colour display, enhancing the cockpit with a sophisticated appearance and wireless connectivity to the bike. The inclusion of LED lighting further elevates the overall motorcycling experience. Additional features like ALPF (Automatic Launch Position Finder), the Kawasaki Rideology for HEV App, and 3 Drive Modes provide varied riding experiences. The rider-friendly interface, combined EV and ICE operation, idling stop function, WALK Mode (with Reverse), and Full Automatic or Manual button shift contribute to the bike's overall versatility and user-friendly design.

Currently, the Kawasaki Versys Hybrid appears to be in the initial phases of its development, indicating that it might be a while before an official teaser is released, eventually leading to its global debut.
