Hungary-based motorcycle manufacturer Keeway is all set for its Indian debut. The Keeway K-Lite cruiser is going to launch in India on the upcoming May 17. The new motorcycle will rival the likes of Royal Enfield, Jawa, and Yezdi.

Although Keeway is a Hungarian brand, it is now owned by the Chinese parent company called the Qianjiang Group. The same QJ group also happens to be the parent company of Benelli. The QJ group has been lately working on the development of new products and engines for global markets. In recent times, the QJ group has already introduced a few mid-size engine bikes in Europe; meaning the development of other sub-brands is on the way.
Keeway has teased the official India debut over its social media handles. The debut is a 'Block Your Date' tagline event, which is supposed to take place in Mumbai on the 17th of May. The teaser photo also embarks on the silhouette drawing of the new unnamed product. So, how are we so sure that this is going to be the K-Lite cruiser? Well, the visible rear end of the bike is simply a ditto copy of the K-Lite; showcasing its low-slung rear-end design.
K-Lite: Design, Features, Engine
The K-Lite is based on the American cruiser brand Harley Davidson; which is known to make the low-slung cruisers. The K-Lite possesses the traditional cruiser bike traits. A round headlight, fat front tyre, round indicators, single-seat, low-slung rear design, and a tyre hugger are the prominent design elements.
Technically, there is no official information on what engine & specs the new cruiser will embrace. But, we suspect that the upcoming bike will not be a small capacity bike. Because of the visible dual-exhaust tips in the teased sketch; it'll be a bigger capacity engine. The new K-Lite could be using either the Benelli Imperiale 400's engine which is a 374cc unit. This engine produces a peak power of 20.7 hp & 29 Nm of peak torque. Or this engine can be a Benelli Leoncino 500 sourced parallel-twin unit which makes 47 hp of peak power.
Once the new bike makes its debut, depending upon the engine capacity, the rivals will remain the likes of Royal Enfield Meteor, Jawa, and Yezdi Roadster. We suspect the pricing will also be competitive with the rivals.
