Kia India is gearing up to introduce a new SUV later this year, internally referred to as AY and anticipated to be named Kia Clavis upon launch. Initial spy shots unveiled the exterior, and recently, new images from South Korea, credited to Shorts Car, showcase the interior of the Kia Clavis, unveiling several exciting features and details.

Kia Clavis Spied: Features Leaked
As observed in earlier spy images, the Clavis showcases a boxy exterior with vertically stacked headlamps, LED DRLs, and dual-tone alloy wheels. The recent photos provide insights into the cabin, revealing intriguing features. The interior boasts a premium look with light tones, resembling white and grey, reminiscent of the new Creta. Noteworthy features include a foldable central armrest for the rear seat, rear AC vents, and USB charging ports.

Enhancing this characteristic are the streamlined flush door handles, contributing to the Clavis' contemporary and sleek appearance. The inclusion of 17-inch alloy wheels further imparts a sense of sophistication to the overall exterior. Notably, the spy shots reveal the incorporation of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), suggesting that the Clavis SUV will feature advanced safety technologies
The Kia Clavis aims to elevate the comfort by introducing front and rear ventilated seats, promising a pleasant and relaxing journey for both the driver and passengers. Additionally, the SUV's maneuverability and parking convenience are elevated with the incorporation of a 360-degree camera and 12 parking sensors (6 on each side).
Engine Details
The Clavis SUV is set to offer both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric powertrains. Although details about the electric variants are yet to be disclosed, iyou can expect a range between 350 km to 400 km . For the ICE models, a potent 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine is expected to take the lead, delivering 120 PS of maximum power and 172 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will likely include a 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) and a 7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT). However, it remains to be seen what exactly unfolds as we move forward.
You can expect this Kia SUV to launch sometime around the later parts of 2024 where it will lock horns with the likes of Tata Punch and the Hyundai Exter.
