After the massive success of the Kia Seltos and the launch announcement of the Carnival luxury MPV, Kia India is now preparing for their third product for the Indian market, Kia QYI is going to be a compact SUV and will compete directly with the Hyundai Venue. The images seen here have been shot by Mukesh Wadhwa in Delhi earlier today.
It's not the first time we have seen the spy images of Kia QYI as the company is immensely doing real world road testing of the compact SUV in India and South Korea. Kia QYI will share its underpinnings with its sibling; Hyundai Venue. Kia QYI might receive the same 1.0 litre 3 pot turbo petrol engine from the Venue with 120 hp and the option of 7-speed DCT. The other engine will be the detuned 1.5-litre diesel which will power the upcoming Hyundai i20 and Venue as well. We don't expect the 1.2-litre petrol engine to make its way to QYI.
The car spotted was having steel wheels and halogen lamps. Although from previous spy shots, we can confirm that QYI will receive a set of good looking alloy wheels too. The front will receive the popular Kia's tiger-nose grille with chrome surrounds. The headlights are assumed to be split units where the main headlight will be LED. The side profile will get black cladding and 17-inch alloy wheels in top trims. The rear profile will get all-LED taillamps which will be much broader than the Venue in width. Other details like a shark fin antenna and roof rails will also be offered.

The interiors will receive a boast of features like a big touchscreen with Android Auto and Aapple Carlay with Kia UVO connected car features, sunroof, ventilated seats, rear AC vents, air purifier, automatic climate control and keyless entry and go. Kia Motors will showcase the QYI at the 2020 Auto Expo and they might also reveal the market name of the QYI which eventually will give it the credentials to be compared with cars like the Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Ford Ecosport and upcoming Renault HBC.
