After the massive success of the Seltos, Kia Motors will be bringing in an electric version of its mid-size SUV in the market. The Kia Seltos EV is being tested internationally and will join its petrol and manual counterparts in 2020.
Kia Seltos EV is codenamed as the SP2EV and is expected to share its powertrain with the Hyundai Kona EV and Kia Soul EV. With the 64 kWh battery pack which produces 205 bhp, it is expected to deliver a driving range of 400 km.
The upcoming EV from Kia Motors will mostly share its interiors, features and underpinnings from the Seltos. However, to distinguish from the regular Seltos, the EV will carry some design changes at the front and rear.

Rumours suggest that the all-electric Seltos will be targeted towards Asian markets only. The global production is expected to start from August 2020 and it will be launched in South Korea initially. There is no official word from the manufacturers that when it will be launched in our country.
When launched, it is expected to compete with the likes of Hyundai Kona and MG ZS EV. More features, more technology and sleek design are what we expect from the Seltos EV.
Sharing details about the Kia Seltos then it is produced at Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. This unit has an annual production capacity of 3,00,000 Lakh units.
Kia Seltos currently comes in both petrol and diesel engines and it is the first SUV in its segment which offers three automatic transmissions. It gets a 6-speed manual as standard across all trims, a choice CVT for the 1.5-litre petrol, a 6-speed auto choice for the 1.5L Oil Burner and the turbo petrol 1.4L comes with a 7-speed DCT as an option.

Kia Motors is also prepping up for its next product which will be the Carnival. The luxurious MPV is a CBU (Completely Built-Up) and is expected to sit above the Rs 25 lakh mark (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Another product on the cards is a subcompact SUV which is expected to hit our shores in mid-2020. The South Korean manufacturer is focused on bringing the SUVs in India as of now because of the massive liking towards the segment.
