Kia Sonet is one of the most anticipated cars of 2020. The Sonet was first showcased as a concept model at the 2020 Auto Expo. Now, recently it has made its World Premiere in India in the production-spec avatar. The Sonet is one of the best looking cars in its segment. It looks strikingly awesome and also not much has changed from the concept model which is really good. The Sonet will be available in two trim levels - Tech Line and GT Line. The sporty GT Line model of the Kia Sonet has been spied on the Indian roads for the first time after its global debut. Let's have a look at the images.
As you can see in the image above, the Sonet has been spied on the test, but this time it wasn't wearing any camouflage. The compact-SUV was finished in punchy orange colour and it looks really good in the flesh. Upfront, it gets Kia's signature tiger-nose grille flanked by heartbeat LED DRLs and LED headlamps. It gets sporty bumpers with skid plates at the front and rear and all-around body-cladding. It runs on 16-inch crystal-cut alloy wheels, gets roof-rails and a shark-fin antenna. At the rear, it gets LED taillamps and also there is a thin red-coloured glass strip that lends it a connected appeal.

However, it is worth mentioning that this punchy orange colour scheme of the Kia Sonet is currently not listed on the company's official India website. So, will this colour variant be introduced at a later point of time? Only time will tell that! Just like the exterior, the GT Line of the Kia Sonet gets a sporty all-black interior. To further enhance the sporty persona, it gets red inserts inside the cabin and red stitching on the seats. It gets a plethora of features including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated seats, BOSE sound system, air purifier, UVO connected car tech and many more.
Talking about the powertrain options, so the new Kia Sonet borrows BS6-compliant powertrains from the Hyundai Venue. The Tech Line models will get 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. While the sporty GT Line variants will get a powerful 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol and the 1.5-litre oil-burner. The 1.2-litre petrol will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox only. The 1.5-litre diesel mill will be coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. While the turbo-petrol motor will be matched to a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT.
