Kia Motors is all charged up to introduce its third offering in the Indian market. This South Korean manufacturer made its market debut in 2019 with the Seltos SUV and so far Kia has enjoyed astounding success in India. Kia launched the Carnival Premium MPV at the 2020 Auto Expo and also showcased the Concept model of the Kia Sonet. Now, the Sonet compact SUV will make its World Premiere in India on August 7, 2020. Ahead of its global debut, it has been spotted once more and yet again, the interior of the Kia Sonet has been spied. Here are some more details about it.
As you can see in the image above, the interior dashboard of the Kia Sonet has been spied and it reveals new details. The dashboard of the Sonet resembles that of the Seltos to a certain extent. For instance, it gets a big 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a horizontal layout. Also, the touchscreen system and the instrument cluster appear to be connected with the help of a single panel. However, it seems that it gets a digital instrument cluster and a multi-information display, unlike the analogue cluster as seen in the Seltos.

The picture also reveals that it will get a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel with a flat bottom. The steering wheel has a GT badging at the bottom which clearly hints that like the Seltos, the Sonet will also be offered in the sporty GT line trim. The centre console of the Sonet houses the touchscreen system along with multiple switches for the climate control system, hazard light and more. It sports a push start/stop button too. It gets four AC vents on the dashboard which have champaign finish around them that lends it a premium appeal. Moreover, it gets an automatic gear lever which is most likely the 7-speed DCT unit as it is the GT trim.
Talking about the powertrain options, so the Sonet will get multiple engines and transmission options. It will get 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The GT line of the Sonet will get a powerful 1.0-litre turbo-petrol motor. All the powertrain options might come with both manual gearbox as well as an automatic transmission. It will also get an intelligent manual transmission (iMT). To know more about this iMT, click here. The Sonet will be most likely the second car in India to sport iMT gearbox after the Hyundai Venue.
