Just recently we gave you a piece on information on the launch date of the Sonet that is on 18th September 2020 and just now Kia Motors has rolled out first Sonet from its Anatpur Plant, Andhra Pradesh indicating that the production of the upcoming compact SUV has started.
Another interesting piece of information is that the bookings of the Kia Sonet have crossed 10,000 marks and gets as much as 30+ segment-best features. Once launched, the car will rival with Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Ford Ecosport, Maruti Brezza and Mahindra XUV300.

Kia also claims that the production of Sonet has begun only when the car crossed 1 lakh km on Indian terrains under all climatic conditions. This is great information as Kia plans to diversify its market into every region of India.

The Sonet packs in some segment-first features like a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a proper 6-speed AT diesel unit, UVO connect with as much as 57 features with voice assist and among others. Like the Seltos, the Sonet too will reach 10K bookings mark soon and we expect it to become the best selling SUV in its segment.

Once launched, Kia Sonet will get three engine options - 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo-diesel in two states of tune. As of now the prices of the Kia Sonet are not out but we expect it to rival closely with the Hyundai Venue prices. Hyundai Venue starts from Rs 6.75 lakh and goes up to Rs 11.63 lakh. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi.
