KTM seems to have understood the sentiments of Indian consumers and it is finally taking its bigger machines on our shores. The superbike brand has commenced the bookings for the 1390 Super Duke R and 1290 Adventure S at KTM Mekhri Circle, Bengaluru. Both big motorcycles will come to India via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route. KTM 1390 Super Duke R and 1290 Super Adventure S: Specifications
The KTM 1390 Super Duke R is powered by a powerful 1350cc, LCB engine which is capable of making 188 bhp and 145 Nm of torque. The powerhouse comes linked to a 6-speed transmission.
On the other hand, the 1290 Super Adventure comes equipped with a V-Twin that makes 158 bhp of power and 138 Nm of torque. This one will be available with a bi-directional quick-shifter while getting the same 6-speed transmission.
What's More For India?
By commencing the bookings for its two big machines, the company has shown its interest in taking its other bikes to our region as well. There are possibilities that the 890 Duke and 890 Adventure will also land on our shores. For now, the KTM has chosen to take the CBU path which will make them costlier to buy here. For the 890's, the booking amount is expected to be around Rs. 50,000.
What About 390cc's?
In other news, I must inform you that the KTM is also working to develop some new 390cc motorcycles. The 390cc machines in the pipeline are likely to come to India. These could include products such as Adventure X, 390 Enduro R and Supermoto.
