Riding the wave of electric mobility, Lambretta Elettra E-Scooter concept has been unveiled globally. Lambretta, a global brand known for its ICE-based scooters in the 200cc to 350cc range, is expanding its lineup to include electric vehicles (EVs). The company has started this transition with the unveiling of the Elettra e-scooter concept at EICMA 2023.
Let's look at what the new concept indicates as to what you can expect from it.
Lambretta Elettra E-Scooter Concept
Lambretta's design team has successfully blended a contemporary profile with signature features, maintaining the iconic brand's nostalgic charm. The Elettra electric scooter concept draws inspiration from classic Lambretta models while catering to modern preferences. With just a glance, it upholds its iconic design legacy quite well.

Notable features include all-LED lighting, a distinctive hexagonal headlamp casing, a rider-only seat with 'Lambretta' badging, and innovative pop-out button-type brake levers. The curved rear section aligns with Lambretta's classic design language. The Elettra concept showcases an abundance of LEDs, featuring neon-style lighting elements and yellow bar end lights for added flair. While these fancy features may not make it to the production-spec model, the design reflects a balance between heritage and contemporary appeal.
The Lambretta Elettra e-scooter concept emphasizes ease of repair, allowing straightforward access to the entire rear section by lifting the rear bodywork. This design approach, reminiscent of the PiperMoto J Series Scooter with a KTM 690 engine, enhances maintenance convenience. The concept reflects a comfortable and upright riding stance, contributing to its user-friendly design.
Powertrain
The Lambretta Elettra electric scooter features a 4.6 kWh battery, generating 15 HP with a range of 127 km (Eco mode) and a top speed of 110 kmph. Charging takes around 5 hours and 30 minutes with a home charger and approximately 35 minutes for 80% charge using a fast charger in public.
However, despite plans for international launches, there's uncertainty about its introduction in India, where Lambretta had previously announced re-entry plans in 2023, in collaboration with the Bird Group and an investment exceeding $200 million over five years.
Verdict
With more and more brands staking their claims in the E-Scooter category, Lambretta sure has some edge owing to its legacy appeal. With a good enough range of 127 km, it is poised to offer a good package for urban commuting. While it is far from production at the moment, expect it to not deviate much from the concept images. However, it will face tough heat from already existing players. Also, join our Whatsapp Group Community to find out more exciting news.
