Skoda India has revealed that the made in India Skoda Kushaq will be hitting our shores in March and will be coming with 3 gearbox options. Read our article to know more about them.
So here are somethings that you should know so that you are better prepared when you are out to buy your next car. Here are somethings that will be there in the upcoming Mid-Size SUV from Skoda.
Engines
The Skoda Kushaq will be coming with two different engines and 3 gearbox choices. There will be a 1.0 litre TSI engine that is currently being shared with the Skoda Rapid TSI. This will be mated to 6 speed manual or 6 speed aisin sourced automatic. This will be producing 110 BHP and 175 Nm of torque which will make it torquier than the base engines offered on its competitors.
For those who want some extra performance, there will also be a 1.5 litre EVO TSI engine which had also done its duties on the Karoq. This will be mated to a 7 speed Dual Clutch automatic gearbox. The engine is expected to produce 148 BHP and 250 Nm. These power figures are expected to put the Kushaq ahead of the Kia Seltos and and Hyundai Creta

Platform
The Kushaq will be based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, which in essentiality is the localised variant of the world famous MQB that has underpinned a multitude of cars across the globe. So the Kushaq is going to be somewhat related to some legendary cars like the Golf mk7 and the other premium cars from the VW group. Also its worth mentioning that the MQB platform is future proofed as it is compatible for the electrification as well.
Tech on offer
As expected from a premium brand like Skoda, the Kushaq is expected to come loaded in terms of features on offer. It is expected that if not the base and the mid variants, the top specced variants will get a digital instrument cluster that is shared with the more expensive Skoda vehicles such as the Superb and the Karoq. The Kushaq is also going to come with connected car technology which will be offered with the mySkoda connect suite of apps.
Safety features
Safety features is going to be something where Skoda will look to continue their good work. Driver and passenger airbags remain standards whereas the front side and curtain airbags are most likely going to be offered on the higher trims. Electronic Stability control is going to remain standard on all models as is the norm.

Dimensions
At the moment not a lot has been revealed about the dimensions of the Kushaq, however it is to be noted that the wheelbase length has been disclosed and that measures in at 2651 mm. This means that ideally, the interior of the Kushaq should be more spacious than the Korean rivals it would be going up against.
