The Mahindra XUV700 is ready for a price hike soon in days to come. This is done with the backdrop being the fast-approaching deadline of the new RDE emission norms. The updated XUV700 will also be E20 compatible. Complementing this development, a new variant is also making its way. It is interesting to note that the Mahinda Scorpio Classic will also be getting a new mid S5 variant in the coming days as well.

New MX 'E' Diesel Variant Just Around The Corner
The Mahindra XUV700 is ready with variants rejig, with a new MX 'E' Diesel trim making its way soon to the showrooms. This new trim will have a 2.2-liter diesel unit with manual transmission. It will be available in a 5-seat configuration. It will sit between the MX and AX3 trims.
The base-spec MX variant already has a comprehensive range of features such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a Type-C USB charger, adjustable headrests, and electrically adjustable ORVMs. But, as soon as you look at the next AX3 trim, it has a lot more features such as dual 10.25-inch screens, navigation, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, AdrenoX connectivity suite free for one year, 3rd row AC and personalized safety alerts.
The Mahinda XUV700 is currently offered in 30 trims, with both petrol and diesel powertrains. The seating configuration is available in both a 5-seater and a 7-seater as well.

Mahindra XUV700 Details
The XUV700 petrol generates power from a 2.0-liter M-STALLION turbo-petrol engine. It generates 197bhp and 380Nm of torque and comes mated to six-speed manual and automatic gearboxes.
The diesel version of the XUV700 is powered by a 2.2-liter mHawk engine. It delivers an output of 153bhp and 360Nm of torque in the lower variants, while the higher variants will develop 182bhp and 420Nm of torque (450Nm for AT). Transmission options include six-speed manual and automatic units
VERDICT- If you are looking forward to taking home the urban Mahindra SUV, the XUV700, this might just be the perfect time. The glimmering SUV is soon getting premium pricing, thanks to the RDE norms. But, if you are more on a budget, and looking for a perfectly balanced variant, you could wait for the MX'E diesel variant.
