We all are familiar with the uncertainties happened in the market in a row harming the whole automobile industry for a long time now. We saw a loss in demand near December, then things started to improve but needless to say, the havoc created by the COVID-19 pandemic disturbed the global economy and also lead to a lockdown which has severely hit car sales. OEMs have seen huge losses and extremely low car sales. As the March 2020 Car sales are out, we share the number of units sold by every car manufacturer in March 2020.

March 2020 hasn't been a good month for all the OEMs which always had been the perfect month for stock clearance and have seen the maximum number of sales. The industry has seen degrowth of over 52%. The market leader, Maruti Suzuki has posted degrowth of 47%. Every OEM has registered only degrowth mainly thanks to the COVID-19 and prevailing lockdown. Volkswagen at the end of the list, has seen the biggest degrowth of over 95%, VW sold just 131 units in March 2020 and it is a massive hit if we compare it with March 2019 sales of Volkswagen which stood at 2,751 units.

Hyundai has registered degrowth of 47% despite attaining growth in overall market share. Despite the lockdown and less market demand, Maruti Suzuki has attained an increase of 3.9% in overall market share.
Kia Motors turns out to be the star of March 2020 in Car Sales as it has sold 8,583 units in March 2020, although we can't calculate its growth or degrowth as Kia entered late in India after March 2019. It should be noted that Kia only sells the Seltos and Carnival MPV in India and most numbers of sales are derived from the Seltos SUV. Cars like Kia Sonet and Sorento are on the cards too.
Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra and Honda Cars India has seen a massive hit this month and all the three manufacturers have seen big degrowth. Tata Motors sold 5,676 units inMarch 2020 and posted degrowth of 68%. Mahindra & Mahindra has registered whooping degrowth of 88% with sales of just 3,383 units. Honda Cars India has also registered degrowth of 79% with sales of 3,697 units in March 2020.
