Maruti Ignis Details
The premium compact hatchback from Maruti comes with the 1.2-L K12 engine as the sole powertrain. It makes 82 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque and is mated to either a 5-speed MT or AMT, delivering a decent 20.8 km/l. In India, Ignis is only offered as an FWD, but in the international market, it is sold with an AWD option as well.
On the flip side, although the engine is the same as the other siblings under the company, it does not get an idle start/stop function.
Maruti Suzuki offers Ignis in Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha trim levels. Top-spec models get automatic climate control, a 7 touchscreen infotainment system, LED projector headlights, LED DRLs, fog lights, and more.
VERDICT- Maruti Suzuki is releasing updates for its lineup to not breach the RDE compliance deadline. Tata Motors, Hyundai, and Renault are already way ahead in terms of regulatory-compliant vehicles. But the price hike of Rs. 27,000 is almost okay, considering you get its fair value in this new Maruti Ignis. What are your opinions about this small premium hatchback?
