Maruti Suzuki, is not only one of the oldest car manufacturers in India, but also offers affordable and VFM cars in the market. The brand recently announced that the prices of the Maruti Suzuki cars in India are set to get expensive in 2022. Maruti Suzuki claims that it is facing issues to cover up the input cost as the cost of materials used in manufacturing the cars they are getting expensive day by day.
In 2021, Maruti had hiked the prices of its cars and will now again increase the prices across all its range. Due to the ongoing Covid19, the company is adversely affected due to the increase in various costs. However, the company is left with no other choice but to the hiking the prices of its existing models in the market.
The hike in price is said to be executed from January 2022 and the price increment shall vary for its range. According to the senior executive director, Shashank Srivastava, the material cost is an important expenditure for the company in the overall manufacturing of a car or any other vehicle.

In just a year the company has announced four times a hike in prices. The question which strikes the mind of the consumer is how is Maruti now an affordable brand where other brands are also coming up with models at affordable prices. It is quite understandable that the prices of the material cost are at a rise but at the same time it is absolutely indigestible to notice a hike in prices of the cars every second or third month. Let's see how Maruti Suzuki plans to change its strategies to maintain its legacy in the market.
