The 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated, petrol motor churns out 82 bhp and a peak torque of 114 Nm. It comes with a 5-speed manual or an option of an AMT gearbox. The ARAI certified mileage sticks to 21.21 km/l.
Talking about the 1.3L oil burner then it generates a maximum of 74 bhp at 4000 rpm. The peak torque is 190 Nm and the fuel efficiency is highest at 28.4 km/l. However, come 2020 and the diesel engine will be axed out because of the upcoming BS6 emission norms.
The reason for kicking out the current 1.3L diesel engine is because the current oil burners cannot meet the new emission norms. Surely, it will affect the sales of Dzire and will give the competition an edge.
