Maruti Suzuki Dzire sales cross 20,00,000 lakh mark in just a decade. The sub four metre sedan acquires more than 60% market in the compact sedan market.

Highlighting more on the sales figure of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire then it also turned out to be the best selling car in the first eight months of the financial year 2019-20.

Maruti Dzire Sales

Speaking on the success of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director, (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, Over years, Dzire has created a niche for itself amongst compact sedans. Gaining widespread acceptance, Dzire was conceptualised keeping in mind the customer demands.

Furthermore, more than 70% of Dzire customers are predetermined buyers who wish to upgrade to the sedan life. Further, nearly half of new Dzire customers have it as their first car. We are extremely grateful to our customers for their tremendous trust in brand Dzire. This trust has helped Dzire to become the countrys highest selling car in this fiscal year.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire launched its third-generation model in May 2017 which became an instant hit. It comes with a BS6 compliant petrol engine and a BS4 diesel one.

The 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated, petrol motor churns out 82 bhp and a peak torque of 114 Nm. It comes with a 5-speed manual or an option of an AMT gearbox. The ARAI certified mileage sticks to 21.21 km/l.

Talking about the 1.3L oil burner then it generates a maximum of 74 bhp at 4000 rpm. The peak torque is 190 Nm and the fuel efficiency is highest at 28.4 km/l. However, come 2020 and the diesel engine will be axed out because of the upcoming BS6 emission norms.

The reason for kicking out the current 1.3L diesel engine is because the current oil burners cannot meet the new emission norms. Surely, it will affect the sales of Dzire and will give the competition an edge.
