Maruti Suzuki Dzire Vs Hyundai Aura 2023 Facelift: What's Better For You?

Hyundai launched the Grand i10 NIOS facelift a couple of days back, which meant that its sedan twin will ultimately get a revamp as well. Hyundai Aura 2023 facelift has been launched at a starting price of Rs. 6.29 lakh ex-showroom. The facelift is brimmed with tech features just like the i10 NIOS. The compact sedan segment has a giant to beat already in the form of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and also a decent contender in the Tata Tigor.

But let us compare it with the Dzire in this segment, so that you can make a better and more informed decision.

Dimensions

The first impression of comparison is the dimensions of the car. The length of both cars is the same at 3995 mm to keep them under 4 meters for tax benefits. While the Dzire is wider than the Aura, it is shorter in height by 5 mm. The difference is negligible, but since we are comparing figures, it is theoretically shorter.

Engine

Hyundai Aura is powered by a 1.2 litre Kappa petrol unit with 83 PS and a peak torque of 114 Nm mated to a 5-Speed manual and AMT transmission. On top of that, Aura also comes with a factory-fitted CNG with the same engine option with a power figure of 69 PS and 95 Nm torque. CNG comes in a 5-speed manual transmission only.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire also gets a 1.2-litre petrol unit. This is a Dualjet engine producing 90 PS power with a peak torque of 113 Nm. The CNG variant is offered with the same engine but produces a power figure of 78 PS with 98.5 Nm of torque.

Features

Since the Aura received a facelift in 2023, it is a feature-rich car, with many segment-first features making their way with the Hyundai Aura. It gets wireless charging, TPMS, an 8-inch infotainment screen, and 6-Airbags. These, however, are missing on the Maruti Suzuki Dzire.

But there are places where the Dzire scores above the Hyundai Aura 2023. Maruti offers the connected tech called Suzuki Connect with the Dzire, but the biggest omission of the Aura is the fog lamps. Safety

This is where Aura punches above the Dzire. Aura gets 4 airbags with ABS and EBD as standard across all variants with the top trim getting a 6-Airbag setup. Maruti Suzuki Dzire even on its highest trim gets a 2 airbags setup. This is something that the Dzire needs to work on, keeping in mind that the mandatory 6-Airbag set-up deadline is in October 2023.

Price

VERDICT- With the facelifted Aura 2023 Hyundai has set a benchmark with the safety and the tech quotient this segment offers. Maruti Suzuki Dzire being around for a while definitely misses out on the race in this area. While the 6 airbags are going to be mandatory for all cars from October 2023, this will be something that wouldn't be talked about then.
