The fourth-gen Suzuki Jimny is loved all over the world. It is a very capable sport utility vehicle (SUV) with compact dimensions. The Suzuki Jimny, like most other 'true' SUVs, is built on a body-on-frame chassis and has a very lightweight body structure. The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Jimny has been recently spied on test in India. It was spied at Manesar in Haryana near the company's manufacturing plant. The spied test mule was the three-door Jimny Sierra and it was finished in white colour.

Earlier, Maruti Suzuki denied launching the three-door in Jimny in India. Instead, India will get a five-door Jimny. According to the latest reports, the five-door Jimny will be launched in India sometime around 2023. However, maybe after seeing the high popularity of the new-gen three-door Mahindra Thar, Maruti might have changed its mind and the company might launch the three-door Jimny in India. It is also possible that the three-door Jimny is undergoing a road test for export purpose but there is no clarity on that.
The three-door Suzuki Jimny is known for its compact form factor and it measures 3,645 mm in length, 1,645 mm in width and 1,720 mm in height. The wheelbase stands at 2250 mm and it has a ground clearance of 210 mm. The Jimny is powered by a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine. This motor churns out 105 PS of power and 138 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission. It also gets ALLGRIP PRO part-time 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system as standard.

Finally, talking about the price expectation, so the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Jimny is expected to be priced in the ballpark of Rs. 10 lakhs - Rs. 12 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.
