Speaking on the issue, Mr Shashank Srivastava, MSIL, Senior Executive Director, Sales and Marketing said - Semiconductor supply issues have become better in the past few months but the situation is still very dynamic but positive. In November about 85 per cent production will be achieved from 40 per cent in September and 60 per cent in October. He further mentioned that the supply of semiconductors is improving but there is still a significant shortage.
The experts have however commented many a times that the industry is facing a temporary crisis that will be resolved in near future. The Indian carmaker is currently studying and developing flex-fuel engines to be introduced in the Indian market in future. The brand had earlier launched the new Celerio that not only boasts the best fuel efficiency figures for a hatchback in India, but in addition to this, is also offering a practical and a comfortable cabin. Furthermore, Maruti is also working on new Maruti Baleno and new Maruti Brezza that may be launched in the market next year. These cars will not only offer a new exterior design, but will also offer a more extensive features list and better equipment. The Maruti XL6 may also be updated in the coming months while a number of CNG cars are also being planned for the Indian market.
