The world of automotive is now plunging in the full swing toward electric vehicles. As claimed by the Mercedes-Benz, the charging socket was sealed for the test car while it made its journey from Sindelfingen to Cassis on the CdAzur via the Swiss Alps and Northern Italy which concluded the total distance. Comprehending this enthralling drive, the EQXX was able to complete this challenge via its minimalistic aero drag-coefficient which stands at just Cd 0.17. This number means that the air simply slips away over the surface of the EQXX. With practically no spaces and gaps to hop on; the aero drag is slim to none hence providing more and more driving range.

Additionally, Mercedes-Benz has used a combination of lightweight construction and brake energy regeneration technology. While the light weight of the car helped it achieve the high altitude easily, the brake regeneration tech helped to regain battery power downhills. Adding to this are the 117-solar cells which have been embedded on the roof of the car. This bold decision of Mercedes engineers has helped the car gain a 12V charging which is roughly 2 percent of the total driving range. The additional 25 km battery charge produced by these solar cells is used to handle the auxiliary expenses such as the headlights, infotainment system, etc.

Mercedes-Benz says that the powertrain, gearbox, and chassis components have been designed based on their Formula 1 car at places. Such high-end engineering has allowed the EQXX to travel great distances without the need for a charge on the go.
While the EQXX remains a concept car and the production version of it is far away; Mercedes-Benz intends to develop this car further and add in their mass-produced vehicles in the upcoming future. Mercedes-Benz has already started expanding its EV lineup globally as recently the Mercedes EQS electric SUV was launched globally.
The German premium car manufacturer already enjoys a big chunk of sales from the Indian customers and the future does belong to the EVs. With the introduction of new EV models globally, the EV lineup will soon come to India as well. So, does this mean that EQXX is not far away to be launched in India? Well, you never know!
