Talking further about the Mercedes EQC 400, It sits between the GLC and GLE in terms of segment placement but as it is an electric SUV, expect it to be priced at an excess of Rs 1 crore. The body shell of the EQC is very perceptible with its distinctive blacked-out grille and smooth body lines. The front features full LED headlights and a blacked-out grille. The rear gets LED taillights with connected LED light bar.

The air-con vents and other controls have been tilted towards the driver to add an extra layer of sportiness. Moving to the powerhouse, Mercedes EQC400 comes with an 80 kWh battery pack that is stored under the floor. The motor is capable of making a peak power output of over 400 horses along with a max torque of 760 Nm.

It touches the 100 kmph mark in just 5.1 seconds thanks to its rather interesting electric AWD layout. Keep the pedal pinned to the floor and it will touch 180 km/h effortlessly and we are sure it can go further to the limited top speed.

The battery once juiced up, claims to deliver a range of near 450 kilometres in a single charge which is more than ample for your daily intercity commutes. The EQC 400 can be charged from nought to 80% in just 40 minutes with a DC fast charger. Normal wall socket charger takes 11 hours for a full charge.

So it is Mercedes' answer to other OEMs in the race of electric propulsion. Its behemoth looks can give a feeling of malnourishment to the Jaguar I-pace and Audi E-Tron which looks more of a crossover and not butch enough.
