After a lot of delays thanks to the COVID-19 and resulting lockdown, Mercedes-Benz India has launched the EQC400 in the Indian market. Mercedes has launched the EQC400 and introductory prices start from Rs 99.30 lakh ex-showroom. Mercedes-Benz has promised to offer a complete ecosystem with the EQC with 100+ charging stations in 48 cities.
Mercedes-Benz India has finally dropped the pricing of the EQC400 which is Rs 99.30 lakh ex-showroom. As it is an EV, buyers will get a lot of deductions and benefits and Mercedes claims the on-road price of the EQC400 same as the ex-showroom price. However, the 99.30 lakh price is only for first 50 buyers and it will be changed later on. It's been a long wait for the EQC400 in India as we saw the first sneak peek of it at the 2018 Auto Expo.

Mercedes-Benz EQC400 is based on the GLE platform along with twin electric motors. Mercedes-EQ is a different brand altogether and select Mercedes-Benz India dealerships will have a separated EQ space along with designated staff and workers of the EQ brand. As the biggest caveat in the sales of EVs is range anxiety and charging infrastructure, Mercedes is said to have taken care of that very well. Mercedes-EQ India has setup over 100+ charging stations in 48 cities in India and for a low-volume premium EV, it is commendable.
Talking about the figures and powertrain of the EQC400, it is powered by an 80 kWh battery pack that is stored under the floor. The motor is capable of belting out a peak power output of over 400 horses along with a max torque of 760 Nm. It touches the 100 km/h mark in just 5.1 seconds thanks to its rather interesting electric AWD layout. Keep the pedal pinned to the floor and it will touch 180 km/h effortlessly. Mercedes-Benz India will also offer 8 year/1.6 lakh kilometres warranty with the EQC400.
Mercedes-Benz India has taken all the right steps to pave the way for the EQC400 in India. We were thoroughly impressed by driving the EQC400 all thanks to its relentless power and lavish interiors. Given the buyers won't have to pay absurd taxes, the 99.30 lakh price is respectable for a mid-size premium electric SUV.
