After witnessing a phenomenal 43% growth in sales in 2021, the company will launch 10 new models. 2022 will also see Mercedes EQS in India.
Mercedes-Benz has announced its plans for 2022, and in the process has also revealed the models that they will launch this new year. In 2021, the German marquee sold 11,242 units 2021 compared to just 7,893 units in 2020. The overall sales would have been more had it not been for the semi-conductor shortage. Because of the chip crisis, Mercedes-Benz still has 3000 customers waiting in line for their cars. Irrespective of that, Mercedes-Benz continues to remain the largest-selling luxury carmaker in India for the 7th consecutive year.

Speaking on this occasion of this launch was Mr. Martin Schwenk, the Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, We are excited with our performance that entailed sales recovery and increased our market share, in a year that was largely unprecedented and posed multiple challenges to the industry. We were successful in exciting the market with regular product introductions and earned customers confidence with our new business model- Retail of the Future.
The year 2021 remains a strong foundation for creating a robust and sustainable roadmap for the future, reiterating the overwhelming trust and loyalty of our customers, who preferred a Mercedes-Benz to other brands, he further added.

To keep the momentum going, Mercedes-Benz has announced that they will be launching 10 new models here in India. Starting with the 2022 Maybach S-Class, which is scheduled for launch this March. The German marquee has also announced that they will be manufacturing their EQS here in India, instead of importing it. 2022 will be another milestone year as we aim to lead the luxury EV segment by expanding our EV portfolio with the debut of the first-ever all-electric luxury sedan from Mercedes-Benz, the EQS, Mr, Schwenk said.
Speaking of launches, Mercedes will also launch the epitome of the AMG performance car, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series. This will be an imported model, and it will come with a hefty price tag. The other 7 models awaiting launch include the GLA, GLC, GLE, GLS, A-Class, and S-class.

Aside from these launches, Mercedes-Benz will also update the existing MBUX infotainment screen with a new Hyper-screen. Furthermore, it will look forward to stronghold curated customer experience, and best-in-class warranty programs.
