In the 2023 Auto Expo motor show, MG Motor displayed a sizable number of automobiles. The MG 5 EV, an electric estate car, is one of the brand's newest showcases in India along with the MG 4. The company already offers the electric MG 5 Estate for sale in European countries. Given the rapidly expanding market for electric vehicles in India, this vehicle may be a future electric vehicle MG plans to introduce in the Indian market.

MG 5 EV Exterior Design
The MG 5 electric car has a sleek appearance when it comes to design. The front end has been enhanced with a sleek and stylish grille and swept-back LED headlights. The front end also has a charging outlet in the middle, and air dams on either side of the bumper are angular. The car's basic general design gives it an exquisite appearance, and its side alloy wheels are dual-tone. Its rear bumper is packed and features geometric cuts, and a Y-shaped LED tail lamp. The rear windscreen has a small slope to it to give it an estate appearance.
MG 5 EV Interior & Features
The EV's interior is given a light colour treatment to make it feel airy. A 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment set high on the dashboard is the centrepiece. All vehicle-related information is provided by the digital instrument cluster. It comes equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system, a 6-speaker audio system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, a 360-degree camera, four USB ports, MG iSmart connected car features, and other high-end features.

MG 5 EV Safety Features
Six airbags, ABS with EBD, TPMS, anti-rolling protection, ESP, hill-start assist, emergency brake aid, and other safety features are included with the MG 5 EV. The presence of ADAS, which includes features like active emergency braking with pedestrian recognition, adaptive cruise control, lane maintain assist, traffic jam assist, speed limit assist, and more, is one of the prominent safety features.
MG 5 EV Powertrain
On the international market, the MG 5 EV features a 61.1 kWh battery and a 400 km range. A smaller battery pack of 53.1 kWh is also added, extending the range to 320 km. In an odd coupling, the latter has a 130 kW motor that produces the same amount of torque as the former's 115 kW motor, which produces 280 Nm of torque. An EV can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 61 minutes with a 50kW charger and from 35 to 80 percent with a 150kW charger. However, an EV can be charged from 0 to 100 percent using a 7kW fast charger in under 10 hours.
Verdict: MG has showcased a good number of electric vehicles in the 2023 Auto Expo. The MG 5 Estate EV is one of the most award winning product for MG in the global market.
