The ZS EV has been a successful product for the brand since it was introduced by MG Motor. Now that more vehicles are entering the personal electric mobility market, it appears that MG is also planning to introduce new goods to the Indian market. A test mule of a new MG electric car, known as the Wuling Air electric in other markets, has been spotted in India.
MG Air EV Specificaitions
One of the most popular small electric vehicles on the Chinese market is the MG Air or Wuling Air. The Air is a two-door electric vehicle (EV) that is compact and even more smaller than the Maruti Alto 800. The SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture manufactures it in China on their GSEV (Global Small Electric Vehicle) platform. Most likely, MG will make every effort to localise it as much as feasible.

The international spec Air EV comes in two variants one with short range and one with long range. The short range variant comes with a 17.3 kWh battery pack and a 30 kW motor. This battery pack is able to give a range of up to 200 km and takes 8.5 hours to charge from a 2 kW AC charger. On the other hand the long range variant comes with a 26.7 kWh battery pack and a 30 kW motor. With this battery pack the long range variant gets a range of up to 300 km and takes 4 hours with a 6.6 kW AC charger.
In China the Air comes in two wheelbase variants as well, one is the Short Wheelbase (SWB) variant with a 2,599 mm length, and Long Wheelbase (LWB) with a 2,974 mm length. Regardless of length, it has a 1,505 mm width and a 1,631 mm height. The seating configuration varies, with LWB models receiving 4 seats while SWB variants only receive 2 seats.

Currently, it is unknown which wheelbase and battery pack configuration will be sold in India. Considering its size, the MG Air is anticipated to be less expensive than the Tata Tiago EV and to have a plethora of features for the Indian market.
