MG G10 Spied at Dealership, India Launch in Offing?

MG Motor India made its debut in 2019 with the Hector and since then they have showcased several products that are in their pipeline. The 2020 Auto Expo was a surprise as we got to see future products from MG and amongst them, the G10 MPV really grabbed our eyeballs. We say it because the MG G10 MPV will be a perfect rival to the Toyota Innova Crysta and Kia Carnival but is it launching in India? Well, there's no official update from the manufacturer but this spy shot reveals a different angle.

This spied MG G10 was spotted at a dealership in India and you can see their flagship product, Gloster parked alongside. However, this is the older G10 MPV and not the facelifted that was brought in China in June 2020.

MG G10 Front Side

If launched in India then MG G10 will pack in a 2.0L, four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. This unit churns out 163 PS of power with 375 Nm of peak torque. A 6-speed stick shift or an 8-speed automatic gearbox can be had with this engine option.

There's also a more powerful 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit but we don't think it'll be launched in a mileage sensitive country like India. You see, the G10 is classified as people movers and with the rising cost of fuel prices, diesel is better suited for Indian roads as it is still cheaper to run.

MG G10 Rear

The 2.0L petrol unit generates as much as 224 PS with 350 Nm of peak torque. A 6-speed stick shift is observed as standard and a 6-speed automatic as an option.

Design-wise, the front gets LED projector headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights followed by a three slat chrome grille pattern. Moving to the side then you see the sliding doors that we've witnessed in the Kia Carnival and the alloys seem to be 17-inches. The rear gets LED taillights and reflectors at the lower part of the bumper.

MG G10 Interior Co-driver Side

The all-black interior of the MG G10 MPV looks nice but we're sure that if the carmaker plans to bring this model to Indian shores then a dual-tone beige and black colour scheme will be observed. Similarly, a larger touchscreen, updated dashboard design will be observed.
