MG Motor has showcased more than a dozen of cars from their global portfolio and one of them is the MG Gloster and it is coming to India very soon. It is basically Maxus D90 which sells globally but MG will sell it in India with the 'Gloster' moniker.
At first glance, it is massive! The proportions are huge which you can't judge by looking in your 6-inch mobile display. The front features a big and bold chrome grille with horizontal slats which has been accompanied by LED headlights with DRLs. The MG logo sits in the middle with a front parking camera beneath it.
The side profile is long and imposing whereas the rear features huge lettering of Gloster at the boot lid. The LED tail lamps are slim and it also gets dual exhausts. Gloster also gets black cladding all around and it sits on 255/55 R19 Contisport contact tyres from Continental.

Globally, it competes with cars like the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and Jeep Grand Cherokee. But in India, it will gather the buyers of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mahindra Alturas G4. It will be sold with 7 seats and will also get AWD. In the overseas market, it gets powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine with 217 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. But in India, it will get the same 2.0-litre FCA sourced diesel engine with 170 ps and 350 Nm of torque. MG Motor did not show the interior at the event but we expect a big touchscreen infotainment system, automatic AC, powered front seats, electric tailgate, panoramic sunroof, multiple airbags and connected car technology.

Despite being feature-packed, we expect MG will price it competitively to capture the interest of the potential buyers. The price may fall in the range of 35-40 lakhs ex-showroom.
