MG Motor is days away from launching the Hector Plus SUV in India. This is based on the normal Hector but will get an additional third row for both 6 and 7 seater configurations. Till now the vehicle had only been spied with camouflage roads but this is the first instance where we get to see the blue color on Indian roads. Further, it is now confirmed that the MG Hector Plus SUV will get a hands free tailgate access. This cool and practical feature allows users to open the boot by waving a leg under the body.
The working of the hands-free tailgate is done with the help of sensors that are placed underneath the SUV's body. When you swing your leg below the car, the sensors pick up the motion and the powered tailgate opens up. Do note, the normal Hector already had the powered tailgate feature. Also, for safety, the sensors also ensure the keyfob is in the range before unlocking the boot. The MG Hector Plus SUV should be in showrooms by the end of this month. We blue model looks appealing and might be MG Motor's promotional color for advertisements. The location for the shoot seems to be inside New Delhi. This 6/7 seater will be offered with the same engine options as the normal Hector. This means it will get both the 1.5 petrol as well as the 2.0 diesel. The petrol will be offered with manual as well as DCT automatic gearboxes. A hybrid option will also be on sale. The 2.0 diesel on the other hand will only be sold with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The normal 5 seater Hector has a starting price of Rs 12.73 lakh ex-showroom Delhi and the Hector Plus is expected to carry a premium of about Rs 20-40k. Given the dimensions, size, comfort and feature list on offer, the MG Hector Plus SUV will continue to offer good value for money in the segment.
