MG Motors and Bharat Petroleum Join Hands To Strengthen EV Ecosystem

MG Motors and Bharat Petroleum will work together to come up with EV charging solutions for customers for the next 4-5 years.

MG Motors becomes the passenger car company to join hands with Bharat Petroleum to come up with sustainable solutions and strengthen the EV ecosystem in India. The partnership is in line with the carmaker's 'Change What You Can vision, which again is a step forward to make EV adoption convenient.

The partnership will expand EV infrastructure for intercity travel, thereby adding more EV charging stations on highways is part of the plan. BPCLs vast network of customer reach will be very crucial in this expansion. MG Motors already has its own multi-charging system with both AC and DC fast chargers, in residential communities and MG showrooms, for their electric vehicle,the ZS EV.

The 6-way charging ecosystem gives its customers free-of-cost AC fast charging, an extended charging network, a plug and change cable onboard, and charge on the go with roadside assistance.

BPCL, on the other hand, is setting up a fast-charging corridor across major highways that interconnect major cities and economic zones. The company claims that in the next 2-3 years, they will establish 7000 charging stations across the country placed strategically. The charging stations will further come with a host of other customer amenities like refreshments, micro ATMs, hygienic washrooms, etc.
