Skoda Auto India Private Limited is going all guns blazing to kick-start its India 2.0 Project with a bang. The Czech car manufacturer today hosted a gigantic digital launch event and launched not just one or two but three new cars in the Indian market. The most affordable of the lot is the facelifted Rapid BS6, followed by the all-new Karoq SUV and the most expensive & luxurious amongst the trio is the new Superb Facelift. The premium executive sedan has finally made a comeback to India and this time in the BS6 avatar. So, here are the Top 5 things you need to know about the new 2020 Skoda Superb Facelift.

1. Variants and Colour Options
First of all, let us have a close look at the variants and colour details of the new Superb Facelift. The aesthetic bits of the new 2020 Skoda Superb is dependent on its variants and it is offered in two trim levels sporty-looking Sportline and opulence-oriented Laurin & Klement (L&K). The Sportline variant comes in three colour shades: Moon White, Race Blue and Steel Grey, while the Laurin & Klement trim is offered in five colour variants: Lava Blue, Magic Black, Magnetic Brown, Business Grey and Moon White.
2. Looks and Design
The new 2020 Skoda Superb Facelift was first showcased in India at the 2020 Auto Expo. It looks sportier and much more premium than the outgoing model. The facelifted model gets a new front fascia with a redesigned bumper, a new grille with subtle chrome inserts and sleek LED headlights and taillights. The Sportline trim of Superb is a sporty iteration and it gets a blacked-out grille, ORVMs, a contrasting roof, and new design for the alloy wheels. It also gets an all-black interior with red inserts while the Laurin & Klement trim gets a dual-tone black and beige finished interior.
3. Engine and Transmission
The 2020 Skoda Superb Facelift is powered by a BS6-compliant 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 190 PS of maximum power and 320 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) to offer good drivability and lightning-fast gear shifts. The pre-facelifted Superb also got a manual gearbox but unlike before, the new Superb neither gets a manual transmission nor a diesel powertrain.
4. Features
Skoda Superb is the most expensive offering from the Czech manufacturer in India and being a flagship model, it is loaded with features up to the brim. It gets a premium cabin loaded with a ton of features like a virtual cockpit driver display, an updated 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and SmartLink connectivity. The saloon also gets ventilated seats, three-zone climate control, ambient lighting and best-in-class safety features which includes eight airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors with camera and many more.

Skoda has launched the new 2020 Superb Facelift in India at a starting price of Rs. 29.99 lakhs, Ex-showroom. The Sportline trim costs Rs. 29.99 lakhs while the Laurin & Klement version is priced at Rs. 32.99 lakhs, all prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi. The bookings for this executive sedan is already open and one can book it online through the companys official website by paying a token amount of Rs. 50,000. Although the new Superb Facelift misses out an oil burner and a manual gearbox, it offers so many goodies for the price it asks that it will definitely be a preferred chauffeur-driven car in this segment. Also, it now doesn't have any direct rivals in India and its only rival is the 2020 Toyota Camry Hybrid that also got a BS6 update very recently.
