Ever since its introduction in the early 2000s, the Bajaj Pulsar became a very integral part of our motorcycling culture. For it was for the first time, that Indians could buy a performance-oriented motorcycle that looked the part. It was beefy, unadulterated and with a muscular-looking fuel tank, it became everyones favourite in no time.
Over the years, the Pulsar has gone through several design changes with an expanding number of variants. But now as we near the launch date of the new Pulsar 250 on October 28th. Bajaj has finally teased us with its new official design. Going by its tradition of naming their bikes after their respective engine capacity. The new Pulsar will now feature a 250 cc engine for the first time in history, which makes this an entirely new bike. What are the other changes or additions in this new model? Lets find that out.

Design
The new Pulsar 250 is quite radically different from its previous iterations. Starting off with the new half-fairing design that now incorporates a new headlight design. It now looks sleek and has this definite unique aggressive stance, a stance for redemption.
The vertically stacked layout of the headlamp will rightfully remind you of an evolved Pulsar 220F. Similarly, the conventional LED indicators have also been replaced for LEDs. Besides, the entire front fascia looks bigger and the windscreen has also increased in size to make it more effective.
From the side, redesigned fairing easily mixes into the tanks, instead of looking like a separate unit in the 220F. The handlebars now get clip-ons and they have been raised as well, which helps give it a comfortable riding position. The LED taillight has also been redesigned, and this time it gets an X shaped design. Besides the rear fender has been shortened for a sleeker look, and theres also a new double-barrel exhaust - which seems to have been carried over from the Dominar 400. The new Pulsar 250 will be available in NS and F variants, just like its previous iterations, however, at the teaser, the half fairing 250F has been teased.
New Bajaj Pulsar 250 Specs
The new Bajaj Pulsar will be powered by the same 250 cc single-cylinder engine also found in the Dominar 250 and KTM Duke 250. With this engine, the 250F should be more powerful than the last generation 220F. However, the official power and torque figures have not been revealed, but it should be the same as the Dominar 250 produces which is 27 PS and 23.5 Nm of torque. Aside from that, this engine will come mated to a constant-mesh 6-speed transmission, again a carryover from the Dominar 250. Another noteworthy engine feature that needs special mention is the fact that the new Pulsar will also come with Variable Valve Actuation technology. This new tech keeps the rev under check, so you can still ride the bike at 30/40 kmph in high gears, without stalling.
Braking duties will be handled by disc brakes, and by the looks of it - they seem to be the same as the ones available in the current NS Pulsar. The Bajaj Pulsar 250s suspension duties will be handled by telescopic suspensions at the front, but the rear gets a new,mono-shock setup that comes linked to a box-section swingarm.

New Bajaj Pulsar 250 Features
The Bajaj Pulsar 220F was never high on features as such, in fact, it didnt even get single-channel ABS. But the new 250F wants to change that. This is evident from the way the new semi-digital instrument cluster has been designed. We can also expect that all Pulsar variants from here on, will come with Bluetooth connectivity. And since Bajaj has already registered the name Neuron, chances of that technology debuting with the new Pulsar 250F is high. Further features of the motorcycle are yet to be officially confirmed. As for now, we have compiled a list of all the notable features and specs from whatever we could gather from the teaser.
