Nissan India has announced the 'Nissan Next' plan for India and it will come with 12 new products in the coming 18 months. Finally, Nissan has taken the wraps off the upcoming Magnite SUV. The images you see here are of the Nissan Magnite concept but the production car will be nearly similar. Nissan Magnite comes under Nissan's 'Make in India, Make for the World' program.
As you can see in the pictures, the Magnite has been designed thoughtfully by the Nissan global designers. We are yet to witness the interiors of the new Nissan Magnite but the exteriors indeed look smashing. The front of the Magnite gets a single-piece grille with chrome embellishments, flanked with chrome borders.

The hood is muscular and gets sharp creases on either side. The LED headlights sit below the hood and those are accompanied by L-shaped LED DRLs - similar to what we get in the Datsun Redi-go. The lower part of the bumper also gets a faux skid plate and red inserts. The Magnite is targeted to Indian buyers by keeping the taste of Indian buyers in mind. Hence, the Magnite gets black cladding all around and it will ride on 16-inch alloy wheels. Both the front and rear wheel arches are flared to give it a masculine appeal.
The lower side of the Magnite sees a chrome strip running across. Moving to the rear of the Magnite, we get LED taillights which are sharper on the inner side. The boot of the Magnite sees an inverted crease to make it look sharper. To increase the SUV appeal, Magnite also gets faux skid plate and integrated roof spoiler along with roof rails and shark fin antenna. The final production form of the Nissan Magnite may lack some exteriors bits you see in the concept images.
Nissan hasn't spoken anything on the engine options. But now we can confirm that the Magnite will come with a surround-view camera and cruise control. We also expect electric sunroof, digital instrument cluster, 8.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple Car play and other features as well.

The expected engine in the Nissan Magnite is 1.0-litre turbo petrol making 100 PS and 160 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual and CVT box. The launch of the Nissan Magnite will happen this financial year in the Indian market. We expect Nissan India to price it very attractively as it will help Nissan to regain the lost market share.
