Nissan Patrol

A few months ago, Nissan brought back the X-Trail nameplate in India after a decade-long hiatus. However, due to its shocking price tag and less-than-desirable looks, people outright rejected this global best-seller from Nissan. While there are several reasons why the X-Trail failed, the Patrol is a different beastit's a vehicle that Indians desire to own. The Patrol is a proper SUV, with a road presence that creates the persona of a VVIP.

Nissan Patrol

Many celebrities in India own the Nissan Patrol, but they have imported it. Once Nissan launches it here, things will be completely different. Let's take a look at the specifications of the Patrol.

Nissan Patrol (Y63)

This SUV in the UAE is available with two engines: a 3.8 L V6 and a 3.5 L twin-turbo V6, both mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The 3.8 L engine produces 316 hp and 386 Nm of torque, while the 3.5 L V6 generates 425 hp and 700 Nm of torque. The exterior is captivating, thanks to the signature C-shaped double headlights that catch your attention at first glance. Additionally, the dual-tone color treatment enhances its appeal from every angle. The rear end is quite similar to the outgoing generation, but Nissan has now added a trendy LED light bar above the Patrol nameplate.

Most likely, if this vehicle is launched in India, it will not come with the 3.8 L engine but rather the 3.5 L twin-turbo. Since its already going to be super expensive as a CBU, theres no point in offering a less powerful engine to customers.

The interior is just as posh as the exterior, featuring red leather seats and trim inserts. Additionally, seven people can comfortably sit inside, as the overall space is comparable to a drawing room. Some of the features inside include:

  • 28.6 Inch monolith display
  • Head up display
  • 12 Premium Klipsch audio system
  • Rear power lift gate - motion sensing
  • Panoramic Sunroof
  • Intelligent cruise control
  • City Bumper
  • MyNISSAN (Nissan Connected Services)
  • Genuine Quilted leather
  • 3rd row powered seats
  • ADAS
  • Seat heater + ventilation
  • Seat + massage + 4 way lumber

Verdict

The Nissan Patrol could be a game changer for the company, as much of the pressure is currently on the sub-compact Magnite. In the past, Nissan had a strong presence in India, but now it seems to be somewhat forgotten. If launched, expect nothing less than 92.5 crore ex-showroom.
