Tork Kratos Electric Bike Price Hike Details
Tork introduced the Kratos in the Indian market in 2022. Launched at a promotional price, the Kratos offered decent tech & riding range. Hence, the Pune-based EV maker gathered bookings and inquiries more than expected. However, the consistently rising input costs have become a nuisance to automotive makers. After trying to absorb most of the rising input costs, Tork has now decided to increase its prices of it. Blame it on the increased taxes and costs involved that include transportation etc. The newbies like Tork itself have been suffering more because of the rising input costs. However, a limit is set to everything and that's what Tork has tried to make its customers understand via a press note.
Meanwhile, the Kratos is a naked sports EV bike. It is offered in two variants - Standard & R. As the increased prices will come effective from 1 January 2023; the Standard variant will be priced at Rs 1,32,499 ex-showroom. Additionally, the R variant will be priced at Rs 1,47,499 ex-showroom. However, both of these prices are for Maharashtra including the FAME 2 subsidy from the government.
The Kratos comes fitted with a 4kWh battery pack. Additionally, it makes 38 Nm of peak torque and does up to 105 kmph of top speed (claimed). Meanwhile, its real-world riding range is claimed to be 180 km per charge. The 0-100 percent charging time for this Li-ion battery is between 4-5 hours via a DC charging station. Meanwhile, Tork has also started an exchange program recently with CredR.
Verdict
The main rivals of Tork Kratos in India are - Revolt RV 400 & Hop Oxo. However, the increased prices of Kratos are going to be a tough decision-maker among potential customers. Additionally, the other EV makers are anticipated to increase prices soon.
