Ola Electric Complaints Reach All-Time High At 80,000 Per Month: Brand Fortifies Service Team
A recent report indicates that Ola Electric is facing an overwhelming 80,000 customer complaints each month, touching up to 6,000 to 7,000 daily on some occasions. To address these issues, the company has established a dedicated team focused on improving after-sales service operations, incorporating employees from various departments, including production and operations. Since its launch, Ola Electric has sold 680,000 electric scooters and currently operates 430 service stations across India. However, the influx of complaints has led to repair waiting times of 30 to 45 days, exacerbating customer dissatisfaction due to insufficient support.
Furthermore, Ola Electric experienced its lowest sales month of the year, with only 27,506 units sold, reflecting a significant 34% decrease compared to July. This downturn has also led to a drop in market share, falling from 39% to 31%. The surge in customer complaints, combined with a lack of adequate service centers and personnel, appears to be a key factor driving this decline in sales.

Verdict
While Ola Electric is expanding its customer service team to battle this ever-mounting service complaints, it looks like it is still going to be an uphill task that is starting to hit its overall reputation evident from the sales numbers. However, I think if the numbers are in this proportion, the brand will probably be looking at the root causes as well to better equip the upcoming units.
