We all know Electric Mobility is the future. This has been said by everyone time and again and that stands true. But now, we can even say that Electric Mobility is the present. That's because though we have limited charging infrastructure, we have a lot of electric vehicles on sale in the market. All the mainstream OEMs want to have at least one EV in their portfolio. A lot of start-ups have also come up with EVs and now Ola is also all set to launch its first electric scooter in India and Ola has also released its official images.
It was May 2020 when Bengaluru-based Ola Electric announced its official entry into the premium electric two-wheeler space both globally as well as nationally. The Indian company announced that to push its project further ahead, it has acquired the Amsterdam-based electric scooter manufacturer called Etergo BV. The company then announced that it will soon foray into the electric scooter market and the first Electric Scooter from OLA will be launched in India in 2021. Now, as it's 2021, that's gonna happen very soon.

Earlier this year, Ola officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu Government to set up its first factory in the country in this south Indian state to manufacture two-wheelers. The EV maker has also released a video of the same and this new manufacturing plant of Ola in Tamil Nadu is claimed to be the world's largest scooter plant. Ola Electric Mobility has announced an investment of 2,400 crores and this new manufacturing plant will initially have a production capacity of nearly 2 million units (20 lakhs units) per year. The company will manufacture the Ola electric scooters in India and they will be even exported to several other countries in Asia, Latin America, Europe, etc.

Now, the company has released the first official images of the upcoming new Ola Electric Scooter. The upcoming Ola electric scooter looks quite futuristic and it is expected to be a re-branded or an enhanced version of the Etergo BV's Appscooter. It is expected to have a riding range of around 240 kilometres on a single charge with a good top speed and also connected tech features.
