The Faridabad-based electric commercial vehicle manufacturer Omega Seiki electric will soon be turning its Vizag plant into an export hub. This shall be done to meet the export demands coming from Western countries.
Omega Seiki Mobility is expanding at a greater pace with its reliable and worthy products such as the M1KA e-LCV. According to the manufacturer, it is receiving a humongous demand from the Gulf & African countries. Also, the western EV market such as the USA is seeking Omega's products. The company has recently set up its first-ever production plant in Vishakhapatnam last year. The 106-acre-based production plant will now enhance the production capacity to meet the export demands.
This export production output will be half of the total production at the plant, as per Omega. Speaking of the Omega Seiki M1KA electric LCV (light commercial vehicle), it is one of the first e-LCVs to be sold in India. Omega has developed the M1KA with proven electric motor as well as battery pack. This electric combination helps achieving a claimed 200 km of driving range of the M1KA. This light electric LCV is capable for carrying up to 3.5 tons of payload which helps the commercial freight carriers largely.

Omega Seiki Mobility recently introduced the commercial segment with its e-LCV M1K. It is also available from 1 tone to 6.5 tons of capacity. Bookings are already open while the deliveries will commence from July/August. Omega Seiki might sell the M1KA at a price range of Rs 15 lakhs ex-showroom as anticipated.
The growing success of electric commercial vehicles in India is pushing new EV makers to create a variety of products for each segment. The LCV segment is soon going to witness a relative expansion as the EV market grows. The export of M1KA indicates the green mobility future for the Indian commercial segment. The popular LCVs in the Indian market include the likes of the - Mahindra Bolero Pickup, Tata T10 Ultra, and Ashok Leyland Dost.
