Omega Seiki Mobility is all set to establish the world's largest electric three-wheeler production facility in Karnataka worth Rs 1,190 crores.
The Indian electric commercial vehicle manufacturer Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) is all set for establishing the world's largest electric 3-wheeler production plant in India. Targeted to be set up in the state of Karnataka, OSM plans to invest a total amount of Rs 1,190 crores for this project.

OSM is a well-known brand in the electric three-wheeler market in India. With their products such as the Rage+ brand; it has already won the trust of new users and market investors. OSM produces Rage+, Rage+ Rapid EV, Rage+ Frost, Rage+ Swap, and Rage+ Tipper in India which sell in quite decent numbers. The company wants to enter the electric three-wheeler segment in India via the OSM Stream brand which is bound to go functional by FY2024.
According to the OSM, it has finalized a total of 250 acres of production land in Karnataka. This land will be utilized via the gathered sum of Rs 1,19 crores which has been raised from investors and debt. This production facility will be able to produce a mammoth number of 1 million electric three-wheelers annually. This production number will help OSM to establish itself as a brand internationally; helping its global expansion plan. OSM is already in talks with the suppliers to set up their auxiliary plants near its upcoming mega factory.

Currently, OSM sells the Rapid+ Rage electric three-wheeler which has already revolutionized the segment since its launch. This electric 3W uses a Rapid X 6,000 fast-charging battery cells which are based on the InstaCharge technology developed via Log 9 Materials. This tech helps the electric-3W to charge 100 percent within 35 minutes and offers a claimed driving range of 90 km. Also, these batteries have an operating temperature ranging from -300C to +600C. This helps the batteries to clock more than 40,000 charge-discharge cycles and achieve up to 10 years of battery life.
The previous year, OSM also launched its first battery-powered commercial vehicle called the M1KA. This SVC was launched with two variants- half-body, and container top. The price range is between Rs 3.59 - 3.99 Lakhs ex-showroom. This product has received a very tremendous response from the last-mile cargo and delivery segment.
