Production-ready Tata Sierra.EV Breaks Covers: Here Are All The Details You Should Know

Following its previous appearances at the 2020 and 2023 editions of Auto Expo in the concept forms, the Tata Sierra. EV finally debuts in its production-spec version at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. A futuristic-looking reincarnation of the iconic Tata Sierra, the new Sierra.EV features new-generation electric architecture and a few segment-first features.

The New Tata Sierra.EV Looks Boxy And Futuristic

The final production-spec Tata Sierra.EV has retained the design of its pre-production version that appeared at the 2023 Auto Expo. Much of the highlights of the pre-production version, including the boxy stance, squared wheel arches, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, blanked front fascia and heightened bonnet, are there in this final version as well.

As expected, the new Tata Sierra.EV has a unique curved design for the rear side window panels, making it a modern interpretation of the original Tata Sierra from the 1990s. The Sierra.EV has a five-door design with functional rear doors, flush-type door handles and a powered clamshell tailgate that opens upwards, unlike the three-door layout with fixed side windows in the original Sierra. This new electric SUV also has LED headlamps and tail lamps, front and rear connected LED light bars and a panoramic sunroof.

The Interior Of Sierra.EV Sets New Standards For Tata Motors

With a flat floorboard and large glass areas all around, the Tata Sierra.EV offers a great sense of space. This new Tata SUV has a layered design for the dashboard featuring a dual-tone black and grey theme with artificial leather upholstery using sustainable materials and minimal contrast bronze accents on the steering wheel, centre console, dashboard and door panels.

Besides a conventional five-seater layout, the new Tata Sierra.EV also has the option of a segment-first four-seater layout with lounge seating featuring powered Ottoman rear seats with extendable leg support. Additional features emphasizing a business class-like seating experience for the rear seat occupants include folding-out tray tables, rear seat entertainment screens and ambient lighting.  

Most of the features previewed in the pre-production model of the Tata Sierra.EV are there in the final version. These features include a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, a triple-screen touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control with touch-controlled operating panel and a floating centre console with gloss black finish and a stubby drive mode controller. It also comes with 3600 camera system for added safety.

Other features that are confirmed in the new Sierra.EV are powered front seats, ventilated seats, wireless chargers, USB-C charging ports, a gesture-controlled powered tailgate and a 10-speaker JBL audio system.

All-New Powertrain Options For Tata Sierra.EV

Based on the new-generation version of the modular Acti.EV born-electric platform, the new Tata Sierra.EV gets both single-motor, front-wheel drive and dual-motor, all-wheel drive configurations.

Many Indians have fond memories of the original and iconic Tata Sierra from the 1990s, the first-ever passenger vehicle from Tata Motors. With futuristic design inside-out, ground-breaking tech and new-generation EV architecture, this new-generation, all-electric Sierra.EV looks like a perfect follow-up to the OG icon, indicating a promising future for Tata Motors.
