The KTM Duke 250 is one of the more sought after bikes in the country. Part of a segment that is the ideal upgrade for people riding 150cc bikes, the Duke 250 has been a proven sales performer. In this article, we will be presenting the pros and cons of KTM Duke 250 and share all the information that you need to know.
So what exactly makes the KTM Duke 250 so good? Here are some of the pros of the KTM Duke 250.
1.Looks - KTM has always been amazing when it comes to designing bikes and the Duke 250 is no exception to the rule. While the family styling of KTM does look all too similar, it is one of the better-looking bikes out there. Especially considering the fact the rest of the competition looks quite bland.

2.Easy to ride - Compared to the Duke 390, the Duke 250 is a much easier bike to ride. The engine is a lot more tractable and forgiving at the same time. So for people upgrading from the 150cc segment, the bike won't be a handful to control.
3.Spot on ergonomics - The wide seat and the higher-set handlebars make sure that riding is not really a difficult a task given the fact that riding height is quite high. The only spot of bother here is the pillion seat but is not a deal-breaker of any sort.
4. Large fuel tank - At 13.5 litres, the fuel tank ensures longer range which is great for cruising. Also since it is a steel tank, it makes it easier for those who are carrying magnetic tank bags. This makes the bike an even more attractive proposition over the previous iteration which had a plastic tank.
These were some of the pros of the KTM Duke 250. However, the bike has a fair share of its problems that prospective owners may have to face.
So here are the cons of the KTM Duke 250
1.Lack of low-end torque - Like other KTM engines, the 250 is no different in terms of the behaviour. The engine of the Duke 250 is a very peaky motor and lacks in the low-end of the torque-band. The engine needs to be revved hard in order to extract power out of it.

2.Fair bit of cost-cutting done - KTM has done a fair bit of cost-cutting when it comes to selling the Duke 250 in India. For starters, it gets the same instrument cluster which has been used on other KTM bikes since their entry in India. Also, the Duke 250 specimens sold in India come shod with MRF types compared to the Metzelers that are sold abroad. While for most people, the MRF tyre would suffice but for those who enjoy their riding a bit more, they would have appreciated the grip from the sticky Metzeler rubber.
3.Is fairly pricey - At Rupees 2.17 Lakhs, the Duke 250 is definitely the more expensive bike as compared to the rivals. This price gap feels further due to the amount of cost-cutting that KTM has done to sell the bike in India. Other options in the market may look like a value for money proposition to a large chunk of buyers.
