The demand for electric vehicles in India is seeing a boom and many vehicle manufacturers are planning to introduce their electric vehicles in the market. At present, Tata is one of the leading electric vehicle manufacturers in India. Tatas electric fleet consists of the Nexon EV and Tigor EV for personal mobility customers in India. Being focused on providing options of electric vehicles to the consumers, Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, recently received a custom-built Tata Nano EV for himself. The Nano EV was modified with an electric powertrain supplied by Electrodrive Powertrain Solutions Private Limited (Electra EV). On its LinkedIn page, Electra EV posted a photo of Tata posing with the electric Nano.
Posting the photo of Mr. Ratan Tata with the Nano EV Electra EV wrote It is a moment of truth for Team Electra EV when our founder takes a ride in the custom-built 72V Nano EV, powered by the engineering might of Electra EV's powertrain. We are super proud to deliver Mr. Tata's Nano EV and gain insights from his invaluable feedback."

For the custom-built Nano EV, Electra EV used a 72V architecture. This architecture enabled Electra EV to increase the driving range of the Tigor EV (taxi version) to 140 kilometres by modifying the design. The range of the Tigor Xpress T EV has been increased to 213 kilometres without any changes to the powertrain. The Tata Nano EV, as seen in these photos, looks identical to a petrol-powered Nano. It's still a small hatchback with four doors and four seats. Super polymer lithium-ion batteries now power the vehicle. The Tata Nano EV is expected to have a range of 160 kilometres and a 0-60 kmph time of less than 10 seconds. Ratan Tata is the founder of Electra EV. For Tata Motors and other OEMs, the Pune-based EV startup is responsible for developing powertrains, battery management systems, and other EV-related technologies. While much emphasis has been placed on the development and production of new electric vehicles, retrofitting of older ICE vehicles has gained popularity in recent years. The company recently announced on social media that an EV powertrain could be retrofitted into an ICE vehicle.
