Renault India is working on a sub-compact SUV based on Nissan Magnite for the Indian market. While the speculated name is out as "Kiger", Renault will officially announce the name and concept form of its new sub-compact SUV on 18th November. Renault yesterday teased the Kiger concept yesterday showing the highlights of the design. Renault Kiger will be based on the CMF-A+ platform and share the powertrains with the Magnite.
Although Renault didn't show many details in the teased video of the Kiger, we can draw some details out of it. First of all, Kiger will be much different when compared to Magnite in terms of design. While the Magnite comes with conventional headlight design, the Kiger will get split LED headlights which include cube-shaped LED main light setup. The turn indicators will merge into the top-mounted LED DRLs.

Moving further, also visible in the teaser video is the top-mounted roof spoiler which seems to have slats jutting out of the corners. The taillamps of the Kiger will be all LEDs which the Magnite misses out on. Coming to the interiors of the Kiger, based on the previous spy shots, we expect a good amount of part sharing with the Triber and the Magnite. The 8.0-inch touchscreen is expected to feature both wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play whereas the digital driver's display will also be offered in top trims.

Coming to the engine options of the Renault Kiger, it will come with the same 1.0-litre NA and turbo petrol engines we see with the Magnite. While the NA engine will be carried over from the Triber in the same state of tune, the turbo petrol engine will offer 100PS and 160Nm of torque. The trannies on offer will be a 5-speed manual and 7-step CVT. The turbo petrol of the Magnite is the most fuel-efficient engine of the lot and that will be the case with the Kiger as well.
