For the starters, the Renault Kiger is expected to identical to the Nissan Magnite on multiple fronts which is the case with most cars that come out of sister companies.

This means that both the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol and the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine would be making its way under the hood of the Renault Kiger. The naturally aspirated motor is rated at 72 BHP and 96 Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. And just like the Magnite, the Turbo petrol will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a Continuously Variable Transmission. The Turbo petrol engine with the manual will be rated at 100 BHP and 160 Nm whereas the turbo petrol with the CVT is rated at 100 BHP and 152 Nm.
Give the fact that both cars are essentially rebadged versions of each other, expect the Kiger to get all the safety and tech features from the Magnite. On the safety front thus it is expected to be as good as the Magnite. While the interior will look a bit different, it would be fair to assume that the basic layout would be the same. Expect the Kiger to also come with features such as an air purifier and a 360-degree camera as well.
Exterior looks will be a differentiator here when it comes to the two cars. The Kiger is expected to be a lot funkier as compared to the Magnite. In fact, the Kiger will be offered with a completely new colour that has been named Aurora Borealis. This colour has been developed by Renault for the Indian market.
The Kiger is also expected to be the more rugged alternative to the Nissan Magnite. It has a ground clearance of 210 mm which is mainly to show the rugged capability of the vehicle. It also gets skid plates at the front and rear along with a double central exhaust system.
While the Magnite has already begun the turnaround for Nissan India, Renault would be too hoping that the Kiger does some of its magic on a company that has been suffering from a period of since quite some time. Also, the Nissan-Renault Alliance would also hope that the Kiger will be able to share some of the load with the Magnite which has been due to the overwhelming response to the vehicle.

The Kiger will be going up against the Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon and its sibling, Nissan Magnite. The pricing of the Kiger will be very much along the lines of Magnite except for some price difference. This would mean that they would be undercutting the segment leaders by quite some margin once again.
